EVENT VENUE RECEIVES BOOST FROM COMMUNITY INFRASTRUCTURE FUNDING PROGRAM

MURRURUNDI'S King of the Ranges Stockmans Challenge has received a $50,000 boost for the Rosedale Horse Complex from the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership (CBP) program with the 2025 recipients announced today.
Member for Upper Hunter, Dave Layzell MP, has congratulated the organising committee of the annual event held each September at the foot of the Liverpool Range.
“This project will improve accessibility and safety by upgrading lighting for the grounds and walkways and replacing old timber grandstands,” Mr Layzell said.
“These enhancements will benefit participants, spectators and the wider community, ensuring continued use of the historic venue.”
The CBP program funds community projects submitted by local not-for-profit community organisations and councils which were eligible to apply for grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000, with up to $450,000 allocated to the Upper Hunter electorate.
Denman Bowling Club has $37,800 for the supply and installation of an appropriate solar panel energy system which will greatly add to the club's sustainability.
The two PCYC’s in the Upper Hunter share over $30,000 with Muswellbrook PCYC receiving $16,114 for a fob entry system to the boxing gym and $14,938 goes towards roof repairs at PCYC Singleton.
“Branxton Tennis Club has $29,500 for resurfacing of a synthetic grass tennis court and $29,000 goes to Upper Hunter Shire Council to use at Scone basketball stadium for inclusive amenities and to improve access for the community,” Mr Layzell added.
Also making the Upper Hunter electorate list of successful projects for the 2025 CBP round:
· Sunnyfield, Singleton has $30,000 for inclusive spaces to support local adults and children with intellectual and physical disabilities to participate in educational and recreational activities;
· Muswellbrook Public School Parents and Citizens' Association is the recipient of $24,236 for a playground shade sail to benefit over 400 children;
· Rapid Relief Team (RRT) Upper Hunter has $15,000 to acquire an equipment trailer to strengthen its catering support for local communities;
· Howes Valley Community Association receives $10,820 for a community hall upgrade to enhance kitchen facilities including with an instant hot water system; and,
· Muswellbrook Child Care Centre’s front outdoor learning environment has secured $10,000 for the purchase and installation of a large shade sail.
“I congratulate all the organisations that were successful with their application and look forward to seeing the positive social, environmental and recreational outcomes in our community.”
